Run of the Mill

On Sunday Joe was grinding wheat to make flour for our weekly bread baking. Ruth Anne really, really wanted to help but there's a lot of friction between the stones. Even one turn of the crank is more work (force x distance) than a toddler is capable of. So I set up the salad spinner without a blade and let her go to town. Then we needed some cheese, so I put in the right cone and made sure the hand that wasn't turning the handle stayed on the bowl which was catching the cheese. She did a grate (ha-ha) job. Then when the cheese actually fell out of the cone and into the bowl, she said "uh-oh." Then having studied under Soca for a while now, she started eating the fallen cheese.
