Shopping

I've often said that all we do in the US is shop. There's so much to buy. This R+R we took this to new extremes and did some house-hunting. Joe went to DC right after we reached the US and didn't like what he saw. This increased my anxiety about buying sight unseen, so we returned to Denver from Glenwood Springs a couple of days early and Neil and I flew to DC ahead of the Memorial Day weekend traffic. We found a little townhouse in the neighborhood where we lived when Joe was in training last, which we love because the bike and bus commute to the State Department is manageable and because we could walk to the health food store, church, library, and so on. Now we're negotiating on the inspecting in the contract, moving ever closer to home-ownership.
