I got them to go with Ruth Anne's jammies and these slippers Gran-Mary Ruth gave me a couple of Christmas's ago. I think it was the first time we all managed to be wearing our monkey feet jammies simultaneously.
Other silly business: Neil is actually amused by a wide variety of stuttering sounds. Ruth Anne doesn't actually get alliteration and rhyme. She was joking with Neil about the "snake eating pastas." A couple of months ago Joe taught her "eenie, meanie, minee, moe." "Eenie, meanie, minee, moe," she chants, "Catch a tiger by his foot." I'm impressed by her comprehension but it's interesting how she misses the pattern. It must be a kind of abstraction like fitting puzzles was this summer that just hasn't fallen into place yet.
